I am sitting here in my comfort zone which I have been familiarized with for the past 7 years, typing right in front of my flat Samsung desktop. My study room has finally been cleared from the mess of kitchen drawers, can foods, form6 text book and notes, and LOL the refrigerator! Apparently, my parents salvage almost everything from the kitchen into the 1st floor study room in the midst of flood scare and warning signals last month. And then my dad thought, Oh what the heck it's CNY and we practically got nothing downstairs and we ended up moving every necessities down including the big tv and sofa!! yay =)

Crossing the border in a couple of hours time, feeling reluctant as there are many things to settle there; can't really slack but baby is waiting and that really matters. *grin* And I have not done any CNY shopping yet, even though I went for tour in Tebrau City with parents... the retail prices in Tebrau City are incredibly expensive. Liren bought the same polo t from Vivo's esprit for S$50+ for TWO and Tebrau's esprit is selling at RM130 per piece. And the jeans from Guess is selling at cut throat price. I can get 1/2 the price at Suntec City-they have sale most of the time. Sigh no wonder they say Singapore is a shopping heaven. =) Well, I am cutting down my spending this year...hehe.

to the ever handsome ever charming knight ever sexiest Hollywood actor ever talented Heath Ledger. This is so sad. Honestly, he's superb in Brokeback Mountain..At first I was kinda surprise when I read the headline "Autopsy on Heath Ledger..." Why would anyone want to do an autopsy on Heath Ledger??? Then I click on it, to reveal the shocking news. =(

Apparently, he's thought to be on Zolpidem overdose. Sounds familiar so I check my Drugs notes ooo...Zolpidem enhances the inhibitory effect of GABA receptor, relaxes the CNS and aids in treating insomnia. But hor... I also found out some of the side effects claimed by patients include sleep walking..duh..they woke up in the morning with paint on their face, fell from balconies and gained weight because they ate up the fridge store in the middle of the night!! Seriously.....this is bizzare.

Sigh. I'm gonna miss his acting. And especially his gaze....in every single movie he acted.

I am halfway through my Drugs & Society webcast when I had this urge to type something in my blog. Either the Italian lecturer is too mundane or I just don't get her Italian slang or I am just being a procrastinator. As always. Gee Drugs is like so much similar to Pharmacology..say what about to kill two modules with one stone?? -___-"

By the way, it's kind of embarrassing to say this, but I seriously enjoy my Infectious Diseases lecture today. And last week one as well. We had this visiting young good-looking Prof from DSO dealing with bioterrorism..duh..as if any terrorist wanna put anthrax spores into all the MPs envelope haha..Kind of remind me of UCLA! So many memories there; in bioterrorism class with no air-con or fan but we still enjoy the cool summer breeze, Liren and Felix dozing off on their chairs, YinFong munching on her pack sandwich, Phoebe busy copying, etc etc..

Well in lec today, we didn't cover on bioterrorism but more on virology. And virology is not all about lab/pateints/doctors. It's pretty much related to social issues like poverty in developing countries where the number of cases such as HIV increases (it will never decrease until we get a vaccine out) each year. He discuss a lot more on how political agenda in the 1st world can affect these 3rd world countries, how the rich gets richer and the poorer get poorer, the cost of antiviral drugs etc..at the end of the lecture, he showed a simple picture of graveyard with 2 little children crying, hugging each other. They are known as AIDS orphan. And this has already reinforce my resolution.

Biotech lab was partly fun today. We injected plasmids with GFP reporter gene into those cute tiny witty Zebra fish. It doesn't look like it has zebra strips on it..not the black and white, but grey-blue horizontal strips. I nearly freak out when my fish started jumping around at the point of injection. Poor fishy. Not enough sedation. Hope we can see the colours coming out nicely ba..

This is gonna be a kick-ass movie!! HiaKK! Feed my chocho on the right tab! Or she'll gonna hiak hiak you also!! hehe

My boo

Been busy the whole week contacting and negotiating with the vendors for "Serendipity" Valentine bazaar. Fuh! Not easy being the PR!! Do come down people! We have Starhub promotional event, booksale, florist selling flowers, free MILO, FREE ROSES while stock last =) from Starhub, bags, clothes, shirts, cute soft toys, accessories, IT products and many many more!! @ Central Forum 13-15 Feb 08. hehe Hope it'll be a good one.

I nearly throw up watching cloverfield, the handycam was bumping up and down and sideways.. Some people may see as a gruesome movie. Some may even think it's a lousy boring and nauseating movie..Well, I think it's a nice love movie. Till death do them apart. It's kind of sad in the end..

Here's a song dedication to my boo;
I'm so glad to be yours
You're a class of your own and
Ooh little cutie, when you talk to me
I swear the whole world stops
You're my sweetheart
And I'm so glad that you're mine
You are one of a kind
And you mean to me what I mean to you
And together baby there is nothing we won't do'
Cause if I got youI don't need money
I don't need cars
Boy you're my heart
And oh, I'm into you
And boy no one else would do
With every kiss and every hug
You make me fall in love
And now I know I can't be the only one
I bet there's hearts all over the world tonight
With the love of their life who feel
What I feel when I'm with you

This has been the busiest 1st week ever of my entire 3 years in NUS. Restless on some CC activities...if it were not for the points to stay in PGP next sem..down with baad sore throat and cough..must be the ma la and tom yam steamboat at Robin's party..but it was good; we all had the best laugh of the night =) And then went to ice-cream cum farewell gathering for AikKhoon's exchange to NZ- Have FUN gal!! That's what exchange is about!! AND keep in touch! -..Haagan Daaz is really really yummy to the core!!! Gah..too much high calories food these days...my tummy is showing up again~~
Just reorganized my room back to a more lively state..haha..my way of procrastinate..

It's raining man..

Tuesday, January 8, 2008

Been pouring since afternoon, finally stopped. Whenever it rains back home, we all will get the flood jitters ~~ like omg, it's going to flood again... sigh~~ don't want go through the evacuation-living on canned food-house cleaning process again!!!

Back to Singapore tomorrow. So soon for my 6th semester in NUS. Seriously, the best thing about NUS is it's SEP/summer programme where you can study elsewhere apart from NUS.. duh..=__= because I really can't find any wonderful memories related with the school itself other than meeting new wonderful friends here. Well, can't blame it because people from different part of the world has different mentality...and the rigorous "boring" academic scene surrounded by concrete walls (sometimes with dreadful weather) and being "locked up" in PGP-Potential Geek Prison made me wanna leave NUS asap...
